Rhino's Treat For Hitchcock Fans
Rhino Records is reissuing nine of Robyn Hitchcock's albums.
The collections (available on CD only) consist of material recorded between 1980 and 1987, which hard-core Hitchcock fans will know as the English artist's post-Soft Boys/pre-A&M Records period.
The nine albums will be released in three batches beginning Jan. 24 with Black Snake Diamond Role, Gravy Deco (The Complete Groovy
Decay/Decoy Sessions), and I Often Dream of Trains.
Fegmania!, Gotta Let This Hen Out!, and Element of Light will be released Feb. 28; while Invisible Hitchcock, Eye, and You & Oblivion will be out March 28.
To promote the albums, most of which have been available only as imports, Rhino has planned a special "Tell A Friend" campaign. The program consists of a bounce-back card inside all releases that the buyer returns to Rhino with a friend's name and address. The buyer will then receive a limited edition Hitchcock lithograph, and the friend will receive a free sampler cassette.
