Final Set Of Hitchcock Reissue Becomes Visible!
Invisible Hitchcock, Eye, And Never-Before-Heard You & Oblivion Due March 28

LOS ANGELES -- Rhino Records, the world's premier musical archival label, has unearthed the final three CDs in the exhaustive dig through Robyn Hitchcock's treasure-filled vaults. Reissues of Invisible Hitchcock and Eye, plus an entire album of previously unreleased material entitled You & Oblivion hit stores March 28, just as the singer-songwriter-musician extraordinaire hits the U.S. concert trail.

The albums (availabe in CD format only) will have a suggested retail list price of $15.98 and contain some of the best material that Robyn has ever recorded. All three titles will also be available through Rhino Mail Order at 1-800-432-0020.

As with the earlier titles in this series (Black Snake Diamond Role, Gravy Deco (The Complete Groovy Decay/Decoy Sessions), and I Often Dream Of Trains were released in January; Fegmania!, Gotta Let This Hen Out!, and Element Of Light arrived in February), all albums have been remastered and compiled with Hitchcock's active involvement and feature rare or unreleased bonus tracks. The booklets include new photos and artwork and notes by Robyn with the Seattle Rocket's Grant Alden.

Invisible Hitchcock, for you Who fans, is like Hitchcock's take on Odds & Sods (and when it comes to odd, Robyn's songs are tough to beat). Recorded between 1980 and 1986 (its year of release on England's Glass Fish label), it includes his Eaten By Her Own Dinner EP along with a slew of rare B-sides. This reiusse consolidates the various vinyl versions that have appeared here and abroad and marks its U.S. CD debut.

Eye was primarily recorded in San Francisco, where Hitchcock was "in love with a beautiful girl" at the time. It features 20 stunning solo sides including "Queen Elvis", "Beautiful Girl", "Clean Steve", and other favorites. Both intimate and immediate, Robyn calls the 1990 album (originally issued on Twin/Tone) "probably one of the most vital things I've done."

You & Oblivion is the fruition of Rhino's archeological digs into the Robyn Hitchcock tape vaults -- all 21 tracks from England's reigning Pop eccentric are previously unreleased. In contrast to the history and track info of the previous reissue liner notes, this accompanying booklet consists of a story -- "The Professor", written by Robyn and James Fletcher -- whose strange twists and turns are quintessential Hitchcock.

Just as these reissus are being released, the erstwhile Egyptian embarks on a cross-country tour beginning at the SXSW Conference in Austin, TX. For a complete itinerary, photos, CDs, or interview request, please contact David Dorn at Rhino Media Relations at (310) 474-4778.
