Robyn Hitchcock And The Case Of The Engimatic U.S. Solo Tour
Underground Rock Guru Zig-Zags Across America, Hits SXSW Backing Massive Nine-CD Rhino Reissue Series

LOS ANGELES -- Robyn Hitchcock, one of the most original singer-songwriters in modern Rock, will kick off his 1995 solo acoustic U.S. tour in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, March 16 with a gig at Poor David's Pub. The tour is in support of his nine-CD reissue collection being released by the world's foremost musical archivist, Rhino Records.

Hitchcock will begin in the South, work his way through the Northeast, and finally end up in the Midwest; playing his own brand of twisted, inviting, cerebral modern Pop melodies. If you've seen a Hitchcock show before, then you're well-aware that one goes as much to hear Robyn's interstitial storytelling as much as the tunes themselves.

Robyn will also be making a special appearance at the South By Southwest Music Conference taking place in Austin, Texas between March 15-19. Not only will he be performing on a Saturday night bill that will additionally include such greats as Graham Parker and Marshall Crenshaw, but he'll also be sitting in on two different panels: "The Best Laid Plans" (Friday, March 17 at 4:15 p.m.), and "Mentor Session #15" (Saturday, March 18 at 2:00 p.m.).

Joining Hitchcock onstage will be elecric violinist Deni Bonet of Mountain Stage fame (aired on National Public Radio). Deni was the featured soloist with the show for eight years performing not only with Hitchcock, but also with R.E.M., Sara McLachlan, and Chris Whitley (among others) before leaving the show to pursue a solo career. Bonet will also be doing a short set of her own material prior to Hitchcock taking the stage.

Rhino's meticulous attention to the nine CDs includes digital remastering of all tracks, bonus cuts and rarities, new in-depth liner notes, and the release on March 28 of You & Oblivion, a brand-new album made up of totally unreleased material taken from the Hitchcock vaults.

The first three titles in the reissue program, Black Snake Dimaond Role, Gravy Deco (The Complete Groovy Decay/Decoy Sessions), and I Often Dream Of Trains, were released on January 24; Fegmania!, Gotta Let This Hen Out!, and Element Of Light (the second batch) will be available on Feburary 28; and the last three, Invisible Hitchcock, Eye, and the above-mentioned You & Oblivion, hit the street on March 28.
