Robyn Hitchcock
"My Wife And My Dead Wife"
Sequel Records (CD SEQ 2)

Release Date: February 13th, 1995

Recorded in 1985 with his band Robyn Hitchcock And The Egyptians, this single is taken from the live album Gotta Let This Hen Out! (Sequel RSA CD 823) and is part of Sequel's massive programme of reissuing Robyn's 1980-87 recordings.

Since the breakup of the seminal Soft Boys in 1980, Robyn has performed as both a solo artist and as leader of Robyn Hitchcock And The Egyptians, garnering much critical acclaim and establishing a significant and fanatical following all over the world.

His dark and twisted storytelling, combined with highly melodic Pop sensibilities, have made him one of the most unusual and compelling singers and songwriters of this generation. Hitchcock's singular style is a blend of his own quirky, offbeat nature, mixed with the sounds of such influences as The Beatles, The Byrds, early Pink Floyd, and Bob Dylan.

The three additional tracks on this single were recently recorded in Washington State for K Records, and will be available in America as a 7-inch-only release. Robyn plays all the instruments on these tracks, which will only be available in the UK on this CD-single.

Robyn will be playing a special solo concert (with guest star Folk legend Martin Carthy) at Jongleurs, Camden Lock, on March 2, 1995.

All nine albums in the reissue programme will be released on Sequel Records by March, 1995.
