Dear Music Fan,
It is with great pleasure that we present you with the brand new album by Robyn Hitchcock And The Egyptians. It's called Perspex Island and I'm sure you'll agree it's their finest collection of songs yet.

Perspex Island contains eleven brilliant Hitchcock compositions unlike anything found on Queen Elvis, Globe Of Frogs, Element Of Light, Fegmania! and really all else you care to mention....

What makes this one different from the others I hear you ask? This one was recorded in Los Angeles. It was prodcued by Paul Fox (XTC, etc.). It features the usual talents of The Egyptians (Morris Windsor and Andy Metcalfe) in unusually talented ways. For example, on this record you'll hear (if you listen carefully) a Shruti Box played by Andy. Have you ever heard one before?

Songs like "Oceanside", "Child Of The Universe", and "Ultra Unbelievable Love" are powerfully melodic and sonically stirring performances while "Ride", "She Doesn't Exist" and "Earthy [sic] Paradise" are perhaps Hitchcock's most beautiful and emotionally poignant works to date.

What else? This one has an unusually lush quality overall: Note the fullness of the 12-string guitars or the rich, Pet Sounds feel of the tight vocal harmonies. You couldn't have missed them anyway. This one is both everything and nothing you've ever come to expect from Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians. And this one is released on August 6.

Please listen to Perspex Island by Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians -- An unusually rewarding listening experience. We'll be in touch soon to see how your garden grows.
